Pursuant to Article 4, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Decision on Financial Support for the Education of Secondary School Students and University Students with Granted International or Temporary Protection (Official Gazette of the City of Zagreb 29/24), a Public Call for the Award of Financial Support for the Education of Secondary School Students and University Students with Granted International or Temporary Protection for the 2025/2026 School/Academic Year is hereby published.
The Public Call opens on 12 January 2026, i.e. on the day of its publication on the official website of the City of Zagreb, and remains open until the funds allocated for this purpose in the City of Zagreb Budget for 2026 and the projections for 2027 and 2028 are exhausted.
A total of 75 financial education grants will be awarded to full-time secondary school students and full-time university students with granted international or temporary protection.
The annual grant amounts to EUR 2,000.00 and is paid as a one-time payment.
The grant may be awarded to a secondary school student or a university student who meets the following conditions:
Secondary school students:
have been granted international or temporary protection in accordance with the law governing international and temporary protection;
have the status of a full-time secondary school student in the City of Zagreb or at the Rudolf Perešin Aeronautical Technical School in Velika Gorica.
University students:
have been granted international or temporary protection in accordance with the law governing international and temporary protection;
have the status of a full-time student in university or professional undergraduate, graduate, and integrated study programmes, or a full-time student in short professional studies, professional undergraduate studies, or specialist professional graduate studies in the City of Zagreb or at a constituent unit of the University of Zagreb;
their rights and obligations are not suspended in the year for which the financial support is awarded.
The grant may not be awarded to a secondary school student or university student who, in the current year, has already received any form of financial education support granted by the City of Zagreb, or who has failed to duly fulfill contractual obligations related to the use of financial education support granted by the City of Zagreb.
Applications are processed in the order of receipt. For applications sent by post, the date of submission shall be the date of the postal stamp on the application. If the application is submitted in person to the Registry Office, the applicant will be issued a confirmation stating the exact time of receipt.

By participating in this Public Call, applicants give their consent for the email address provided in the application form to be used for official communication and the delivery of notifications related to the Public Call.
Delivery shall be deemed completed at the moment the notification is recorded on the email server of the email address provided by the applicant in the application form. Applicants are obliged to notify the authority immediately, and no later than within 24 hours from the date of change of the email address or any other reason preventing the use of the email address specified in the application form; otherwise, delivery shall be deemed completed. These provisions apply accordingly to the telephone number as well.
