U gradu Zagrebu i okolici, Karlovcu i Krašiću od 25. do 29. kolovoza 2021. održat će se prvenstvo jugoistočne Europe u orijentacijskom trčanju u nekoliko kategorija. Svečano otvorenje 10. Prvenstva jugoistočne Europe u orijentacijskom trčanju za kadete, juniore i seniore, 9. Prvenstva jugoistočne Europe u orijentacijskom trčanju za veterane te 21. Zagreb Opena (petodnevno popratno natjecanje u orijentacijskom trčanju) bit će u srijedu 25. kolovoza 2021. godine na ljetnoj pozornici kina Tuškanac.
Natjecanje je prošle godine zbog pandemije odgođeno za ovu godinu i tek je sada popuštanjem COVID mjera donesena odluka na međunarodnoj razini da se prvenstvo može održati krajem kolovoza.
Za natjecanje koje se ujedno boduje i za svjetsku rang listu (WRE) prijavljeno je 533 natjecatelja te prateće osoblje iz 21 zemlje svijeta, a održava se kroz pet natjecanja u pet dana (sprint, srednje staze dva puta, duge staze i štafeta).
Prvenstvo jugoistočne Europe u orijentacijskom trčanju (SEEOC i SEEMOC) održava se svake godine. Nastupaju reprezentacije pojedinih država članica Međunarodne orijentacijske federacije iz regije u svim dobnim uzrastima. Organizator SEEOC-a 2021. godine je Orijentacijski klub Vihor iz Zagreba ispred Hrvatskog orijentacijskog saveza.
Orijentacijski sport obuhvaća obitelj sportova koji zahtijevaju navigacijske vještine. Natjecatelj koristi kartu i kompas za kretanje od točke do točke na raznolikom i obično nepoznatom terenu, a u svim disciplinama osim precizne orijentacije, važna komponenta je brzina kretanja.
