Hrvatski akademski veslački savez Mladost pod pokroviteljstvom Grada Zagreba i u organizaciji Hrvatskog veslačkog saveza i Veslačkog saveza Zagreb 24. listopada 2020. organizira šestu regatu Osmerci na Savi, koja je ujedno i prva regata u sklopu Capital Cupa za sezonu 2020-2021. Zbog trenutnog visokog vodostaja Save ovogodišnja regata održat će se na Jarunu.
Zbog pandemije koronavirusa, unatoč najavama novih posada iz Velike Britanije i Francuske, nema prijavljenih posada iz inozemstva, ali se zato očekuje sudjelovanje velikog broja osmeraca iz Hrvatske u nekoliko kategorija.
Veslanje u Zagrebu ima svoju dugu povijest. Prvi veslački klub osnovan je 1912. godine koji danas djeluje kao HAVK Mladost, a tijekom godina osnivaju se i drugi veslački klubovi pa se tako Zagreb može podičiti da u njemu djeluje još sedam veslačkih klubova.
