National Breast Cancer Early Detection Program
The National Breast Cancer Early Detection Program covers women aged
50–70.
In the City of Zagreb,
15 mammography units participate in the program. They are located in hospitals, health centers, and at the
Andrija Štampar Teaching Institute of Public Health.
Women aged 50–70 receive an invitation by mail with a scheduled appointment and location.

Results are sent by post along with mammography images and further instructions. If additional diagnostics are required, follow-up is coordinated with the patient’s general practitioner and specialized diagnostic centers.
