Danas je na Trgu bana Jelačića, po prvi puta, u organizaciji Ureda za upravljanje u hitnim situacijama, održana zajednička smotra zapovjedništva Civilne zaštite Grada Zagreba, zapovjedništava civilne zaštite vijeća gradskih četvrti, povjerenika po mjesnim odborima i povjerenika skloništa te Stožera zaštite i spašavanja Grada Zagreba.

Naglašavajući značaj dobro organizirane civilne zaštite kada dođe do izvanrednih situacija kao što su potresi i poplave, te požari i ratna stradanja, gradonačelnik Milan Bandić istaknuo je da Zagreb danas ima dobro opremljenu i ekipiranu civilnu zaštitu u svim gradskim četvrtima.
