Rujan je mjesec podizanja svijesti o malignim bolestima kod djece što je prilika da se šira zajednica upozna s problemima s kojima se suočavaju oboljela djeca i njihove obitelji, razvije empatija te da se oboljelima kao i članovima njihovih obitelji pruži podrška.
Naime, spoznaja da dijete boluje od maligne bolesti izvor je stresa, tjeskobe i zabrinutosti, ali i straha s obzirom na nedostatak znanja i iskustva roditelja i drugih članova obitelji koji sudjeluju u skrbi što može dovesti do negativnih zdravstvenih posljedica i utjecati na kvalitetu njihova života.
Slijedom navedenog, Grad Zagreb u suradnji s Domom zdravlja Zagreb-Zapad na adresi Baštijanova 52 pokreće program podrške roditeljima/skrbnicima djece oboljele od malignih bolesti u okviru savjetovanja sa stručnjacima:
