The Intelligent Energy Europe programme represents the third component of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which contributes to the attainment of goals set in the European energy and ecology policies through the promotion of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and energy-efficient transportation; this is carried out by financing activities which: contribute to the removal of market obstacles, create behavioural changes, and create a favourable business climate for growth in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources markets. Total budget 2007 to 2013: €730 million
