The Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) is aimed at supporting innovative activities (including eco-innovations), ensuring better access to financing for small and medium size enterprises, secure support services for business in the region, promote better use of information and communication technologies (ICT), assist in the development of an informational society, and promote increased use of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The programme is divided into three Components: the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (EIP), the Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP), and Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE).
