Sklonište za životinje mora tražiti vlasnike napuštenih i izgubljenih životinja ili ih nastojati udomiti. U svrhu obavljanja navedenih poslova Grad Zagreb kao osnivač Skloništa za životinje dužan je organizirati informacijski centar za napuštene i izgubljene životinje te podatke o životinjama dati na uvid javnosti, ostalim skloništima za životinje na području Republike Hrvatske i nadležnom tijelu.

Izgubljene, pronađene, ranjene i zlostavljane životinje građani mogu prijaviti na Info centar Dumovec:
